AI Risks Uncovered: Staying Safe in the Digital World
This CPD opportunity explores how rapidly evolving AI technologies are increasing online risks through deepfakes, voice cloning, AI‑driven manipulation, and algorithm‑shaped content. The course focuses on raising awareness, strengthening digital literacy, and promoting ethical, informed use of AI. Participants learn to recognise early warning signs, support service users, and apply safeguarding practices that keep pace with an increasingly AI‑integrated online world.
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:
Identify key AI‑related risks such as deepfakes, voice cloning, nudification apps, manipulated chat logs, and parasocial relationships, and understand how these technologies increase harm.
Recognise early warning signs that may indicate a service user is experiencing online manipulation, blackmail, grooming, or AI‑generated abuse.
Apply safeguarding principles to AI contexts, including assessing behaviour and impact, knowing relevant reporting pathways (IWF, CEOP, Revenge Porn Helpline), and supporting victims effectively.
Promote safe and ethical digital behaviour by reinforcing consent, critical thinking, responsible AI use, and conversations that encourage trust rather than fear.
Enhance digital literacy by helping service users understand online risks, algorithms, privacy considerations, and how to stay in control of their information and interactions with AI tools.
